Spring in the air and very much so in the rugby!

Wymondham came down from an equally sunny Norfolk to play a club wide friendly match at Henham. Three Bus loads of minis and two full squads of U13's and U15's saw another busy day at the club.

The day was set with lots to be positive about. The pitch looked amazing, a very talented young referee (Hamish) was ready to control the middle and two talented young teams warmed up and were ready to demonstrate some fun and creative rugby without any pressures to win.

We had a very depleted squad, with forwards in the backs, backs out of position and debuts for a new rugby player. On this warm spring afternoon I had to ensure the lads stayed hydrated, as there was not going to be much rest for anyone with only one sub available on the day.

The lads started really well with some excellent defence, not letting Wymondham exit their half for the opening 10 minutes. Our set piece functioned well and our interplay looked good getting the ball to our wingers early and in space....

Our continued strong defence and relentless attacking options allowed us to put our wingers away in space 7 times and score simple run in tries. Game plan executed!

A great game, with lots of player led development and a loud but well cleaned changing room post match. Well done lads.

Everyone needs to get to training now to prepare properly for the Eastern Counties Final at the end of the month.
