Saffron Walden RFC U17 3
Chingford U17 29

A bad day at the office for SWRFC U17 losing their 2nd league game to a not that impressive Chingford team. The first 20 minutes Walden dominated especially in open play. David Butcher and Emiel Pronk were inventive keeping the team going forward. Both Michael Jordon and Hector Marchetti on the wings had their fair share of the ball, but were often isolated by the lack of forward support. Richard Gough's kicking game was again superb clearing the lines with pin point precision. The Chingford pack, albeit huge were fitter and more mobile, making the breakdown first in numbers presenting quality ball for their powerful backs. Some flashes of set play brilliance from scrum half Oli Haskins and Charlie Potter combining well at the base of the scrums' but the Chingford defense was resolute. Scott Loader and Andrew Kerr in the front row worked hard against the big Chingford props, new boy Malcolm Mallow had a great second half coming on for the injured Anil Noonan.
A disappointing result but a game this team will defiantly learn from.
This game certainly didn't reflect the final score. Man of the match Hooker Andrew Kerr.
